SEclipse Student Organization Tent Registration
On Monday August, 21st 2017, there will be a solar eclipse passing over the Cape Girardeau area. The last time a full eclipse occurred was 26 years ago and to celebrate this momentous occasion SEMO will be cancelling classes from 12pm-2pm in order for students to check out fun activities and events taking place on Normal Ave, at the River Campus, and inside Houck Field House that day.
Additionally, the Student Government Association will be sponsoring an opportunity for 8 different student organizations to receive $200 each that will go towards an eclipse oriented game or activity that the student organization will be responsible for running between 11 am and 1 pm on Normal Avenue.
Completing this form indicates that your student organization has interest in applying for 1 of the 8 student organization spots to receive $200 in funding to sponsor a fun eclipse/space related activity during the day of the eclipse.
The deadline for consideration of the funding for the SEclipse day is: Friday, July 21st at 5:00 pm.
The 8 student organizations that proposed the most interesting and entertaining ideas will be contacted and informed about their funding on Monday, July 24th.
The University will also have departments hosting games and activities at this time. As a result, student organizations should consider choosing an game/activity that differs from the topics below:
